This is my most personal work, and what drives me as a photographer. I started taking self portraits in the year 2008 as a way to step outside of my comfort zone to improve my photography skill set and my self confidence. Then it became a way to feel both empowered and humbled at the same time, intertwining myself with my first love of the wilderness and documenting the beauty of each moment I've been fortunate enough to experience.
Spanning over the last 10 years, self portraiture has become a therapeutic experience for me - Not just a way to maintain a connection with nature, but with my own thoughts and emotions also. These moments of solitude can break me down, heal me and bring immense joy and exhilaration - emotions I feel most strongly when in these beautiful places. These photos are my way of telling such feelings and stories with no words necessary.
With that, I hope you enjoy these photos as I did these moments.
Thank you for taking the time to look into my world, I truly appreciate it.
